AHP Offers COVID-19 (Coronavirus) testing for children AND adults. We do not offer antibody testing, but we can refer you to a lab for antibody testing.

Tests are available to anyone who is asymptomatic OR has mild symptoms of COVID-19. If you have severe symptoms (bluish or cold/clammy skin, shortness of breath, chest pain, new confusion/disorientation, seizures, or difficulty speaking/breathing/moving/staying awake) seek emergency treatment immediately.

There are 3 types of COVID tests available:

Cost of Testing

If you have an insurance we take (Check here), you will only need to pay the deductibles/copay your insurer requires for an Urgent Care Office Visit. This must be paid with a credit or debit card. We bill for an Urgent Care Office Visit and an independent lab bills for PCR tests. Please check with your insurer for billing questions.

If you do not have an insurance we take, the fee for a COVID test is $150.

We apologize, we do not see Kaiser or MediCare patients. We do see Health Plan of San Mateo patients who are 18 or younger.

If you would like a Rapid test, there may be a $50 fee we collect with a credit card. We will give you a receipt if you would like to submit it to your insurance provider.

Appointments:

Sick children do not need an appointment, but please call ahead before you visit. Children who are not sick and all adults need an appointment.

After filling out the form, please email a copy of the front and back of your insurance card(s) to [email protected] with the patient name as the subject line. If you are bringing a sick child in for Urgent Care, you can come anytime. If you are visiting for a COVID test, please email  preferred date(s) and time(s) for your test along with your insurance card and we will get back to you to confirm an appointment slot. 

We have appointments available during the day, evenings, weekends, and even holidays! Appointments are usually available within a day, and often same day for children.

Travel:

This information was updated on October 5th, 2020. AHP does its best to keep up with travel guidance, but please verify information with your intended destination before making an appointment:

China: Result must be received within 24-72 hours prior to departure. Requires Molecular test (ask for this when you schedule a test). Schedule your test 4-5 days prior to departure so that the result arrives at the correct time.

Alaska: Test must be taken 72 hours prior to departure. If your result does not arrive prior to landing, you simply need to quarantine at your destination until the negative result arrives. Schedule your test 72 hours prior to departure and plan your trip to allow for 1-2 days of quarantining at your destination until your result arrives.

Hawaii: Test must be taken 72 hours prior to departure. If your result does not arrive prior to landing, you simply need to quarantine at your destination until the negative result arrives. Schedule your test 72 hours prior to departure and plan your trip to allow for 1-2 days of quarantining at your destination until your result arrives.

Maine: Test must be taken 72 hours prior to departure. RAPID Antigen tests are eligible. Schedule a RAPID Antigen test anytime within the 72 hours prior to your departure.

Massachusetts: Test must be taken 72 hours prior to departure. RAPID Antigen tests are eligible, but must be confirmed with a PCR. Schedule a RAPID Antigen and PCR test anytime within the 72 hours prior to your departure.

New Mexico: Test must be taken 72 hours prior to departure. RAPID Antigen tests are eligible. Schedule a RAPID Antigen test anytime within the 72 hours prior to your departure.
